Casting
The Birmingham Stage Company is launching a new tour of its hugely successful production of THE JUNGLE BOOK by Rudyard Kipling adapted by Stuart Paterson.
Rehearsals commence in London on 14 March 2011.
The tour opens on 6 April at The Old Rep Theatre, Birmingham followed by a national tour including Leicester, Oxford, Brighton, Watford, Cardiff, Sheffield, Richmond and Bradford until 16 July 2011.
There is then an 8 week unpaid break over the summer.
The second part of the tour recommences on 12 September at Churchill Theatre, Bromley and runs until end of November.

All actors require excellent movement and singing skills. All the characters require actors from between 20 to 40 years old.
MOWGLI: Requires a young actor in his 20’s to portray this ten-year old boy, the hero of the story. Charming, innocent, yet feisty and hungry for adventure. 5’ 9” max height. Song solo.
BAGHEERA: A male actor required to play this charismatic, charming and sophisticated panther. A smooth, unsentimental operator with a cat’s natural sense of power. Doubles as BULDEO, the leader of the village, a devious bully who hates Mowgli and plans his death.
MESSUA: Mowgli’s human mother who rescues him from the villagers. A strong and kind woman. Doubles with RASKSHA, Mowgli’s wolf mother. Tenacious and feisty.
ARKELA: An experienced male actor to play the leader of the pack. Great charisma and presence, he saves Mowgli from Shere Khan and is willing to fight to the death. Song solo.
ACTING/ASM/UNDERSTUDY: – A male actor in his 20’s who appears throughout the show in small speaking roles. He understudies the principal roles and has ASM duties.
